Had enough of surfing the whitewater? Do you feel that your surfing is not getting any better? Bundoran Surf Academy provides surf lessons for surfers who want to improve their surfing or use their own surfboards. We also provide an opportunity to test drive a selection of surfboards on the Academy sessions - we have a short boards, fishes, fat boy flyers, mini mals and pop outs - that means we have boards suitable for advanced beginner/improver and intermediate surfers. Let us know when you book in if you want to surf a specific board, or we can advise on what might suit you. Often it is a great way to experiment with boards before you make a new purchase.

The lessons are run by fully qualified ISA approved Level 2 instructors, and all lessons are fully insured. Instructors take a maximum of 6 surfers per session so the numbers are small, which means each surfer gets plenty of one to one attention.

Junior Surf Academy
The Junior Surf Academy is for U16 surfers who have mastered basic surfing techniques. To enter the Academy junior surfers must complete the Irish Surfing Association White Water Surf Skill Awards. It costs €10 to complete the award and each surfer must complete the tasks in their Indivdual Work Book and gain their competence certs. The ISA White Water Award is the first step and can be done through our regular Junior surf camps. Once they have the White Water Award surfers can progress to the Academy, which is aimed at more intermediate techniques and uses hard boards. Kids are encouraged to bring their own boards, and we have some available in the school. Cost €85 plus €10 for ISA award.

Improver Weekends
These courses are aimed at surfers who have their own equipment and can catch a wave, stand up, and go straight. You dont have to have your own board, we can lend you one. We have a number of Improvers weekend courses running throughout the year. The courses aim to help surfers get away from the white water and start surfing green waves. We will also explain surf etiquette, ocean knowledge and surf forecasting. Cost €85.

Intermediate/Advanced
These courses are aimed at surfers who have been surfing for at least a year and are able to get out back and catch green waves. The aim of these courses is to refine techniques and is mostly taught using video analysis. We dont have specific dates for these courses and often lessons are one on one so if interested email info@bundoransurfco.com and we can arrange what you need. Cost €80 for one to one lesson for 2 hours.
